UNEEK UPHOLSTERY

      Some say I was born with a steering wheel in one hand and a wrench in the another.  I've always had a passion for cars and racing.  I spent my earlier years balancing school work and multiple jobs to support my addiction to professional racing.  My last year in high school I took the same co-op program that my father had taken 20 years prior at an upholstery shop and this is where I became hooked on sewing!

     My high school auto teacher saw my presentation regarding my co-op placement and personally asked me to upholster his home built replica Lamborghini.  This was my first ever complete car interior that I would complete solely on my own and I was stoked!  I was later invited on a road trip with my teacher and his replica Lamborghini heading to a large car show in Carlisle, Pennsylvania to be judged by some of the best.  The car took home best of show and that was when I realised at a young age that the sky is the limit and I have been striving for excellence ever since.

I later worked in aviation at an airport in Peterborough converting commercial jets into private.  I advanced my trimming skills there while taking other courses to help get my own business started.  I graduated from a kaizen program called The Toyota Way emphasising on organisation and managing waste.  I found these tools extremely important as you're only as good as how tidy and neat you are.

     With the dream of having my own business in the horizon, my Grandmother asked if I could upholster her boat interior.  I did not have a machine of my own at the time, she willingly offered to pay for my first industrial sewing machine in trade for my labour and materials and this is where Uneek Upholstery began during the summer of 2006.
